Mrs Willis and I were very pleased to be able to go inside the new Reception cloakroom extension.
They are 20sq metres so will be used for readers or small group work too. They really are impressive and the work is progressing on time.

The Reception extension is coming on well!
Imagineering Club Produces new code breakers!
Miss Judge has organised and run a fantastically successful Imagineering club, for the past few years.
The children who attend, seem to mainly be boys….they love the challenge of the engineering, maths and science. You could hear a pin drop in the room, when they are all working on their assignments.
These two Year 4 boys were particularly excited about their slide coders…..ask them what they are called and what they do!!!
well done!
Giddy Reception children came to visit!
Year 5 travel through time
Year 5 have been taking sentence stems and key vocabulary, in order to write their time traveller’s guide to the 1940’s.
Mr Moore provided the class with some wonderful examples of the kinds of things they would need to consider….no mobile devices…why? How would you need to dress? Would your language need to be modified?
Let’s see what they came up with……maybe they will share some of this in their class assembly?!
Reception love the ‘Cave Baby’
Reception have begun sharing a new story, called the ‘Cave Baby’ by Julia Donaldson.
They have been inspired to work on their very own cave paintings, writing and role play.
Reception are going to share this work, by putting a display up in the main part of school.
Watch out for their sabre tooth tigers though!
Nursery love to cook
Mr Haldane has had a wonderful time working with the children in Nursery, making pancakes.
I had the privilege of watching them take turns, learn new vocabulary and help clear away.
In between, there was the great excitement of waiting for the pancakes to cook and then watching Mr Haldane flip them. He did well!
Of course, the most enjoyable part, was tasting them….scrumptious!
Year 1 Grace Darling
Year 1 have done some really exciting work about Grace Darling.
The children have been asking questions about who she was and why she was famous.
They have really enjoyed the start of the topic.
I was really delighted to have seen some excellent photos that Mrs Cattrall has done with the Year 1 children, which I am sure you will see soon!
