I am amazed to hear that there were over 99 children who had been on Google classrooms, before 9am today! Huge well done and I am incredibly proud of you for working so hard.

Read Write Inc are broadcasting free online lessons, which will be excellent for all our children and also parents.
I forgot to log on to Joe Wicks this morning at 9am but will do that tomorrow! I hear it is a hard session so can’t wait to see photos of you all, post workout! Don’t forget to share all your work via Google classrooms or to email your class teacher.
Huge thanks to all the ACE staff because they really are living up to that name. I have always been proud of the team that we have built but in an unprecedented crisis as this one, they have been wonderful. The school phone line will not be accepting calls or taking messages at this time, as we are minimising the number of staff who need to be in school.

Thank you to all the parents who have already emailed us with their key worker information and ID. Please can you do this by 12pm today, 20th March, as we will then plan for next week and email you confirmation of a place.
We are also planning to be open during what would have been our Easter holidays, in order to allow essential key workers to work, if you are required to do so. We will do this on a flexible, rota pattern for staff so that they still get their holiday entitlement, if they are happy to work in this way.
Again, thank you for cooperation at such a difficult time. What an amazing, ACE community we have here and I know that this will only strengthen us further.
In light of the huge changes we are facing, we have cancelled the parents evenings for next week. We will therefore be closing at the normal time on Wed 25th March, to further support all our working parents. So there will be no early closure on that day.
Staff will aim to send home a short written report instead, on April 22nd.
The aim of this is to share progress to date, next steps and ways that you can further help your child to make progress.
Thank you once again for all your support during a time when we have had to make some small but significant changes to the way we are running school.

I always get really excited about sharing things with the children. This Christmas was no exception.
Please ask them what the Queen of Norway has got to do with my assembly on Monday.
We have had an excellent start to the new year, with lots of exciting work going on.
Reception started the week with a Dinosaur Planetarium. The children came out buzzing about their experience, talking about dinosaurs being extinct and meteorites. I am looking forward to seeing the work that they produce from this!
I have had my first Christmas cake, which Mrs Schofield has beautifully made…it made a very tasty lunch, before we settle in to our two Christingle services. Happy Christmas!
Don’t forget that we break up for Christmas today….a lie in tomorrow perhaps!?
It has been a super busy term and I wish you all a very happy, peaceful Christmas.
When we return on the 7th January, the Y6 classes will be in the temporary classrooms on the playground.
The preparation work for the new building will be taking place, with the footpath at the back of school being prepared. It does look rather ugly but do please bear with it, as it will all be worth it!
Please do help us by waiting by the correct class sign, at the end of the day. The class will come to you and you can take home from there.
Some of our parents get together for a run on Tuesday mornings after dropping the children off at school. You don’t need to be fit or know how to run – all you need to do is turn up and join in the fun! If you would like to know more then visit the Run Together web page and contact Claire
We are really proud of all the sports competitions that we take part in. I love them to win but am delighted that they take part and do their absolute best.
Last week, I was proud of our netballers who had a great win against Highfield Primary School. Well done Y5/6!
